The 2015 Long Island Village Clerks & Treasures Food Drive was a big success. We would like to thank everyone who donated to the drive and supported our fight against hunger! Your combined efforts resulted in over $2,500 in cash donations and 1,311 pounds of food!
Long Island’s largest hunger-relief organization, Island Harvest serves as the bridge between those who have surplus food and those who need it. Their volunteers and staff collects, quality surplus food from over 800 supermarkets, caterers, farms, and other food-related businesses; and distributes it to a network of more than 570 soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, day care & senior center residences, and other places where those in need can access it.
If you have missed our drive this year there are always opportunities to contribute through the Island Harvest website. Through their website you can educate yourself on hunger and poverty on Long Island, submit your contribution online, or volunteer your services and time to the cause.
Thank you again for your continued support. EVERY donation makes a difference.
